SHÇEK (Social Services and Child Protection Agency) is a public institution which helps disadvantaged children, young, old and handicapped people, women and all the people in need of protection and care in our country. The institution gives importance to the protective preventive service models in recent years. Believing that if the family, which is the core of the society, is enforced, the development of the society will be built up, Family Counselling Centers have been set up as a structure of institution and they are one of the service models of great importance and priority. Family Counselling Centers help solve social, economical, psychologic and forensic problems that the family encounters, disharmony between the couples and problems between child and the parents. They also give consultancy and guidance service about forming the family system to the couples who are going to get married. Ankara Family Counselling Center has been fouded in 2004 in accordance with this objective. It has given importance to the ethic principles which have been set the borders within the defi nition of family consultancy. With this aspect of it, it has aimed at being a positive model in a newly-developing service area. In this respect, it is always aware of the training workshops and academic meetings.

The center, which has done 2144 people a service till now, has been conducting its actions with the method of family therapy and training workshops. Since it has gained a meaningful consultant profi le and a practice experience, the sharing of this information is recognised as an academic responsibility. With the declaration to be presented, central datum are going to be shared and the experiences of the institution, which aims to be a model with its principled performances, are going to be discussed as a suggestion in terms of prospective services.
