Investigation of Predictor Variables of Post Divorce Hassles
It’s important to determine divorcee’s hassles when planning divorce interventions and it’s necessary to determine predictive variables of these hassles when planning preventive interventions during the divorce process from predecision to post divorce adjustment. The aim of the paper is to determine the predictive variables of divorcee’s hassles. 390 divorcees (307 women and 82 men, ranging from 21 to 67 ages) participated to the research. Divorce Beliefs Scale - developed by Sayan-Karahan and Yıldırım- and Personal Data Questionnaire were used for data collection. SPSS and logistic regression were used to analyse the data. It was found that; sex, income, home ownership, duration of marriage, a new relationship after divorce, friends after divorce, activities after divorce, psychological support increases the financial hassles risk. Age, age at divorce, duration after divorce, custody, activities after divorce, divorce beliefs increases emotional hassles risk. Sex, education, incidence of decision, divorce beliefs increases social hassles risk.
